John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

From my newsletter:

This week’s verse is probably one of the most popular or most memorized verse, by children and adults, in the Bible! At first glance, this verse can be considered complex or deep. But, I think we tend to complicate things, when actually this verse is quite simplistic. Can you imagine? All we have to do believe! That’s it! A powerful statement of both judgment and redemption in one verse! And most importantly, God’s love for us!

Supporting verses:

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4,5

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9,10

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:29

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25,26

I finally designed my first faithbooking set based on this verse! Visit www.FaithfullyYours.net for more information!
